That’s it for my 2011
2014年12月11日2011 NFL Week 1 Predictions and Picks
It’s time for the 2011 NFL week 1 predictions and picks. The week 1 schedule of the NFL season kicks off on Thursday night, September 8 with New Orleans at Green Bay. The Saints Packers matchup will be nationally broadcast on NBC and features two terrific teams in what should be the game of the week in the NFL. The Packers had an "all world" finish to the 2010 season which included a Super Bowl title. Aaron Rodgers proved he is one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. But New Orleans isn’t that far removed from their own Super Bowl title. Could this possibly be a preview of the NFC championship game? Either way, this kickoff opener is a fantastic way to start the 2011 season. What are my predictions and picks for this opener of the 2011 schedule? I think the Saints are more than capable of being a dominant power in the NFC once again. Unlike mid season, Lambeau Field won’t exactly be the frozen tundra that we have come to expect. It’s a tremendous quarterback battle with Drew Brees settling in against Rodgers.
With that in mind, I expect a competitive showdown with a good deal of points. My predictions and picks for this week one Thursday opener Packers win a close one 34 30. Rodgers is good for 3 touchdown passes and Ryan Grant excels in his return after an injury plagued 2010. Brees is fantastic but it’s not enough in the end as the Saints watch too many Lambeau leaps to count.
Next up on the 2011 NFL week 1 schedule is the full slate of Sunday games. Atlanta travels to Chicago in what could be a very intriguing game. Bears fans have the lasting image of Jay Cutler leaving due to injury in the NFC title game against the above mentioned Packers last season. Falcon fans don’t have it much better with memories of a wholesale nfl jerseys tail whooping in the playoffs at home against those same Packers. Either of these teams could be serious contenders this season regardless of the outcome of this contest. I think the Bears defense will be a little too much for Matt Ryan and company at Soldier Field. Cutler is solid and Chicago wins 26 17.
My predictions and picks continue with Cincy in Cleveland. Can the Browns continue any momentum from last season and are the Bengals done without Carson Palmer? This Ohio battle could come down to the wire but I don’t really think so in week 1. My predictions have the Browns opening this one up late for a 27 13 win.
Buffalo travels to Kansas City in a game that many will predict as a Chiefs win. I can’t disagree with that notion but in week one you never know which teams will show up. Still, my predictions and picks have KC winning 31 14.
Philadelphia is in St. Louis for what could be one of the most unpredictable games of the week. The Rams are certainly growing while the Eagles are hoping to take another step in the Michael Vick era.
Sam Bradford isn’t a rookie anymore and bigger things are expected. I’m going with the upset here as the Rams walk away with a 27 23 victory over Vick and company.
Next up on the 2011 Week 1 schedule is Detroit at Tampa Bay. The Lions have looked excellent in preseason but it will be tough to win in Florida. My gut feeling says Tampa Bay wins an ugly one 17 16. A single turnover could flip the outcome.
The Tennessee Titans open a new coaching era and should have Chris Johnson back in Jacksonville. The Jags are a hard team to figure out but they’ve played well at home. Still, I think the Titans will find a way to win a defensive struggle 20 17.
Baltimore hosts Pittsburgh in a huge AFC matchup. Can the Ravens knock off one of the Super Bowl favorites? This one could be a classic and defenses will step up I think the Ravens get the edge Jerseys Outlet just because they are at home and pull off a 16 14 win.
The Colts are in Houston in cheap nfl jerseys the opener on the 2011 Week 1 schedule for both clubs. The Texans haven’t exactly looked the part of the contender while the Colts have the status of Peyton Manning in question. If Peyton suits up and plays, Colts win 27 21. If Peyton sits, look for Houston to edge Indianapolis 23 16.
The New York Giants are in Washington during week one of the NFL season. All indications are that the Giants will be back to form this year. My predictions say they’ll win going away in week one by the tune of a 27 17 victory. The Giants defense will cause havoc in the backfield all day long.
Seattle is in San Francisco in a game that won’t get much national pub. Neither team figures to be in the playoff race as the two squads rebuild. I look for the 49’ers to win 23 9 thanks to the fine running of Frank Gore.
Minnesota begins the Donovan McNabb era in San Diego. Unfortunately, the McNabb era won’t start with a bang but a thud. The Chargers roll to a 34 21 victory at home. Philip Rivers tosses 2 TD passes in the victory and the Cargers running attack adds two more scores on the ground.
Arizona hosts Carolina in another contest with a couple of teams trying to rebuild. The Panthers could get a huge road win if they show up. I think the two headed running game(Stewart and Williams) of Carolina helps the Panthers edge out a 14 13 win on the road.
Dallas is on the road at New York to face the Jets. Call me crazy but I think the Cowboys have a legitimate shot to steal a win on the road during week of the NFL schedule. In fact, I’m going on the line to say Dallas wins the opener 24 20. Romo has a lot to prove this season and I believe he’ll make at least one statement during week one with a rock solid effort.
There are two Monday night games on the opening week schedule. Let’s start with the earlier contest as New England travels to Miami. Tom Brady is just too much offense and I figure the Pats to win 26 17.
The final game features Oakland at Denver on Monday night. The Raiders have a shot to win going away but I think the home opener in front of the home folks at Invesco Field should propel the Broncos to a cheap jerseys 28 20 victory.
That’s it for my 2011 NFL week 1 predictions and picks. As usual, I’ll be back next week to throw up another set of weekly scores and predictions during week 2. That’s a mouthful, isn’t it?Specifically I write about sports, reality television, entertainment, hot t. Denver on Monday NightThe docket for the NFL week 9 schedule appears quite interesting already, with a number of very key divisional games where both playoff position and bragging rights are going to be on the line.2010 NFL Week 5 Predictions and PicksWill 2010 NFL Week 5 bring more upsets? act a certain way,
2014年12月11日Dolphins new offense asks a lot of Tannehill and others
Ryan Tannehill played 51 games (19 in college and 32 with the Dolphins) under the old Mike Sherman offense. It was so familiar to him that, as a rookie, he often helped veterans on the Dolphins learn the nuances of it. It was comfortable for him. It was home for him.
The new offense coordinator Bill Lazor is installing for the Dolphins leaves Tannehill just as unfamiliar with the as any other player and perhaps less than some players more familiar with variances of it. Rookie Jarvis Landry, for example, says he ran the same Dolphins plays at Louisiana State under former Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron, who is now the LSU offensive coordinator.
So Tannehill has work to do and, clearly, his abilities on the field and work ethic and ability to digest information off it will be tested in the run up to the regular season.
Can he get it all down and be proficient quickly after coasting in the Jared Allen Jersey knowledge of the old scheme the past few years?
think so," Tannehill said. "I think we already have a baseline of going through it just the beginning stages at this point. There’s still a learning curve. It’s not going to come overnight. It’s going to take some time not just for me but for all of our guys. The receivers are running routes that they haven’t run before doing adjustments that we haven’t done before, so there’s going to be a learning curve but that’s what this time is for. This spring practice that we have, everyone here, it’s getting better when they have to be here because we’ll www.giantsofficialnflonline.com/Nike-Trumaine-Mcbride-Jersey.html have a full camp here.
"t’s a learning process. We’re doing some different things in the backfield that we haven’t done before. We’ve been doing it on air but it’s completely different when you throw a lot of defense out there then you’re trying to process a lot more information so it’s the fun process. I’m exciting to get in and watch the tape and see the mistakes I made and how I can correct them. But that’s what this time is for and I’m just excited that we have this time, that we’re able to get everyone out here, have all the receivers out here that are healthy working and just start building that chemistry just a little bit so when the ball comes we are ready."
About those receiver running routes and making adjustments they haven done before .
One of the complaints I had about Sherman offense last year was there was hardly any motion used to help receivers get free of coverages. Indeed, receivers often lined up in the same Jared Allen Navy Jersey place play after play as a so called strategy.
Not so with Miami new offense. Receivers will be in motion a lot. will be five players in the pass pattern a lot that coming in multiple combinations such as two WRs, two TEs and a RB or 3 WRs, a TE and a RB. And most of the time, receivers will have options on their routes.
This Dolphins offense places a premium on speed that the so called West Coast offense of the past couple of years did not. Mike Wallace is happy about that. This offense requires a strong armed QB and Tannehill fills that need well. The offense also relies a lot on timing. Tannehill will often be throwing to spot and expect the WR to be there.
That can be good as it will get the ball out quickly. But that can also be problematic http://www.nflbearsofficial.com/Nike-Lance-Briggs-Jersey.html if the receiver and quarterback are not in synch, as sometimes happens when things are new.
The new scheme also Tannehill to fix the deep ball accuracy issue of the past because otherwise the long ball and the offense often looks long first and then works back is of no effect.
So the chemistry between Tannehill and Wallace is a bigger deal than last year.
it’s big. big time," Tannehill agreed. "I think that’s one thing you looked at from last year is just connecting more. Not only on deep balls but just connecting more on every run and he’s been here working in the offseason and putting forth a lot of effort and that’s exciting from a veteran guy like that who’s been in other organizations that maybe haven’t had the same offseason type program that we have. For him to come here and be working this year it’s exciting."
Much work needs done on this. During Tuesday OTA session, Tannehill tried one deep pass to an open Wallace that I saw. He overthrew it. So the issue isn exactly fixed yet.
Look for a lot of inside running out of the new Dolphins offense something that might give Daniel Thomas more of a shot at making the team than even I previously thought because he the biggest back on the team. (Yeah, I still not convinced he it. He had three seasons and shown very little. I doubt suddenly he has an epiphany in Year Four and becomes John Riggins.)
The Dolphins new offense places a big demand on the tight end. It was out of this kind Robbie Gould Navy Jersey of offense that Kellen Winslow Sr. and Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates gained prominence. Is Charles Clay, coming off a breakout season, ready to take another big and significant step in his development?
The Dolphins used a lot of double tight end formations at Tuesday OTA are Michael Egnew and Dion Sims ready to become factors? (Rookie Arthur Lynch is nursing some sort of injury that seems minor.)
The possiblities are grand. But the possibilities for a grand disappointment also exists. Remember that Cameron version of this same offense didn exactly lead to a great season in 2007.
"It’s fun. the way things turned out last year wasn’t what we were looking for," Tannehill said. "Personally, from a team standpoint, from an offensive standpoint, to come out, kind of have a fresh start, new identity, new offense with really talented players across the board. You know you look at our roster, especially on the offensive side of the ball, you see a stacked receiver room. Robbie Gould Youth Jersey Brought in Knowshon (Moreno) in the backfield. The guys up front that we brought in are really talented players and I’m just excited I get to play with them."
Not trying to get in a debate. But the more I think about it. The more I see it from Pouncey point of view. Kris, I know we disagree about Jonathan Martin. You think he was mis treated terribly and I think he handled EVERYTHING the wrong way and sold out an entire team.
I think Pouncey has a sense of humor that rubs people the wrong way and comes across as immature. These things are true, but does that make him a bad person? He never gets in trouble off the field. Yes I know there were things said about him when he was at UF, but was anything ever confirmed and has anything happened since?
I was one of the people who thought his joke after J James was drafted was a dumb move, only from a PR perspective.
But the more I think of it. Why should Pouncey have to change his personality and act a certain way, when he isnt hurting anyone? He does his talking on the field and does what he supposed to with training and such and teammates love him.
Perhaps my immature sense of humor falls in line with his, hence I am defending him. Look at all my posts, I am always talking about wieners and sex websites. This behavior might make people think I need to go see a psychiatrist. Why because I like what I like and think what I think and act how I act?
TH had numerous games last year where his stats/rating were good, but unfortunately enough where those same stats were lousy and offset the good performances.
I don think Tannehill or the team as a whole can be truly evaluated on last year performance. It was an anomaly because of the Martin thing that would not go away. Pride and confidence are so important in playing any kind of sports. They went out and beat good teams (Pittsburg for one) and all the media wanted to know was what happened with Martin and Ingognito. Tough to keep your perspective.

Defensive ends and linebackers play vital positions in football. While players at both positions make tackles in the running game and rush the passer, there are key differences in the two spots. Defensive ends can set the tone in a football game with their ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks, while linebackers usually are defensive leaders because they can make plays all over the field.
Running Game
The defensive end and the linebacker have significant differences in their responsibilities against the run. The defensive end faces the offensive tackle as the ball is snapped. The defensive end cannot allow the running back to get outside of him on a running play. He must control the offensive tackle and can’t allow the offensive tackle to push him inside on a running play that goes toward the sidelines. He must try to shed the blocker and make the tackle. A linebacker has to flow toward the football after it is snapped. Since Brandon Marshall Women Jersey he is set back from the line of scrimmage, he must get to the ball carrier as quickly as possible and make the tackle. He usually will have to fight off blocks in the process, but he must stop the running back and drive him to the ground with his tackle.
Rushing the Brandon Marshall Youth Jersey Passer
The defensive end has the responsibility of rushing the passer and trying to sack him on nearly every pass play. When the quarterback drops back to pass, the defensive end will try to use an array Matt Forte Youth Jersey of moves to get by the offensive tackle and close on the quarterback. The defensive end will use his speed, strength and ingenuity to get to the quarterback. The linebacker occasionally will try to get to the quarterback by charging at him through a crease in the offensive line. This play is called a blitz and is designed to allow a linebacker to run full speed at the quarterback without having an offensive lineman block him. The defensive end will try to get in the passing lanes to knock down a short or intermediate range pass. The linebacker is regularly involved in pass coverage. He will be asked to cover opposing running backs or the tight end in pass coverage. He might be able to deflect the pass, intercept the pass or tackle the opponent after the reception is made.
